Flapper Hats–Just Perfect For A Halloween Costume

Flapper hats from the 1920s are perfect for your Halloween costume. These hats are very chic and stylish and are the style worn by the flapper girl in the nineteen twenties. Flapper fashions of the roaring twenties were the new kind of clothing for women who were abandoning the Edwardian fashions of the early 20th century. The flapper style consists usually of short skirt or pants and commonly a short hairstyle. The nineteen twenties was a time of great change for women and for their clothing styles.

Coats were very often styled in a wrap around mode and fastened to one side. Flapper hats of the twenties were mostly very dainty and close fitting in a cloche style. Cloche hats were certainly an extremely popular style. This type of hat was mostly worn with a short hair style. Flapper style hats and twenties clothing are just great for a 1920s Halloween costume.

Coco Chanel was a famous model in the twenties period. She was the prototype of the perfect flapper. The slim good looking clothing of this era were very different from the conservative Edwardian styles which preceded them. The  nineteen twenties was in fact the beginning of stylish womens clothes which has carried onward to the present time.

Flapper hats were typically  tiny and quite elegant compared to hats of earlier years. The dainty close fitting cloche style hats are typical of twenties fashions. These slim elegant flapper hats will look great in your Halloween costume.

Mens clothing also underwent great change in the 1920s. Sports styled clothing became very popular, in particular tweed jackets, which were often belted at the waist, and worn with pants known as “nickers”, which were half length and ended just below the knee. These were usually worn with long woollen stockings. Nickers continued in popularity into the 1950s. Typical mens hats were straw boaters or large brimmed felt hats. Flapper hats and clothes and this mens style are perfect for Halloween costumes.

The nineteen twenties era was one of great change in lifestyle, especially for women. Women strode forward and out of the Edwardian period to embrace a new fuller life and to tackle many kinds of jobs, and to participate in various sports, which had been denied them in earlier times. The flapper was the modern woman.

The western world was trying hard to recover from the absolutely devastating toll of World War 1. Millions of people died in the war and life was changed forever for most people. The roaring twenties therefore became a period of rejuvenation, when Those who had survived the war were establishing new lives and new hope for the time to come.Both mens and womens clothing changed drastically along with the new ideas of the period.

Flapper hats are quite elegant and are great as part of a nineteen twenties Halloween costume.
